I have followed Leonard Cohen since I learned of and watched his dvd documentary about the Tibetan Book of the Dead. For many years he studied zen and his poetry is like haiku, simple and striking. As performed by other artists it has a haunting eternal beyond life effect that can change ones perspective to more spiritual realms. Coupled with an unpretentious sense of humor this poetry comes highly recommended as simply...beautiful.
