The workshop will be led by Patricia Elizabeth. We will register on
Friday evening, October 30, and start in on Saturday morning and go
through Sunday afternoon. Patricia will instruct a morning workshop on
basic reading practices which will be valuable for new readers along
with helping experienced readers learn how to lead introductory
classes themselves. The buddy system as always will be our strong
support throughout.
Grant Abrams and Susan Plucknett will lead a session in presenting
techniques that we can use with our reading practices in clinical
settings. This will lead to a discussion of how to present reading
practices to those professional caregivers with an interest in
learning some LRS technique. Professions represented will include:
social workers, counselors, lawyers, accountants, ministers, massage
therapists, morticians, nurses, doctors, physical therapists and many
others.
Iven Lourie will lead a session in life review for the purpose of
"telling our life story" - a wonderful tool to offer family, friends
and associates. On Saturday evening Patricia and David Franco will
introduce a process for "getting in touch" with the passing of our
loved ones and even our Selves. Breathe ...
Long term projects that have been mentioned during the LRS Tuesday
meetings will be discussed during the weekend, including formation of
a new online class, group readings, working with the different texts,
(Angels Healing Journey, Book of Sacraments, Lazy Mans Guide, The
Great Adventure), and of course, our favorite, "the Lord of Death".
We will have a session on working in the different chambers. There
will be afternoon sessions with E.J. Gold on both days, as well as
work with the Beacon and Beta Blockers. In addition, there will be a
session for a 'group report' where individuals can talk about what
they are doing back home.
Yes, we are hoping to bend time a bit. Yes, the intention is to have
some part of the workshop to be online, other parts will not be
online.
As with many elements related to LRS, the COST of the workshop will be
a bit different. We would like you to pay what you think the workshop
is worth. Not off the charts in either direction - high nor low. We
understand the economics of NOW - really we do. It may be a payment
when you arrive, or you may decide to make monthly payments to IDHHB
as we move along. We would be most happy with whatever form of ongoing
commitment in LRS activity you can make and if that includes future
activities such that you would tithe to the IDHHB, we would be most
appreciative.
