This is a certificate program in Spirituality and Health Care that prepares the health care professional with practical scholarly information and clinical skills to care for individuals and families in a comprehensive manner. We believe that spirituality is an essential aspect of the individual and must be integrated more fully into health care.
Patients and clients are feeling increasingly lost and ill served in health care systems that are focused on highly technical care and maximizing financial return. Health care providers are struggling to maintain their compassion and caring in systems that undervalue the sense of service and relationship building that brought many professionals to work in health care. This program offers health care professionals the opportunity to develop their capacity for providing health care, which recognizes the spiritual dimension. The certificate program also prepares the health care professional to provide leadership for integrating spirituality into their own health care and systems of care.
